ROLY SAFETY
Practical help should still be safe help.
Last updated: 28 August 2026
Roly can help you understand problems, investigate likely causes and work through practical tasks, but you remain responsible for deciding whether it is safe and appropriate to perform a task.
Stop and get help
Stop and seek appropriate professional or emergency assistance where there is immediate danger, fire, smoke, a suspected gas leak, a serious electrical hazard, serious injury, dangerous structural damage, an uncontrolled vehicle safety issue, hazardous materials, or another situation requiring emergency or licensed assistance.
Vehicles, electrical and licensed work
Vehicle work can involve heavy or moving parts, hot components, fuel, electricity, pressurised systems, lifting vehicles and safety-critical components. Use appropriate equipment and manufacturer procedures, and obtain professional help when required. Some electrical work is legally restricted and potentially dangerous; Roly is not a substitute for a licensed electrician. Plumbing, gas, building, automotive and other work may require licences, permits or qualified professionals depending on the location and task—confirm local requirements.
Tools, specifications, photos and emergencies
Follow manufacturer instructions, use suitable protective equipment and do not use tools you do not understand or cannot operate safely. Independently verify important specifications where mistakes could cause damage or injury, including torque values, fluid type, electrical and fuse ratings, part compatibility, capacities, lifting points and manufacturer procedures. Photos can help Roly understand a situation but may not show every hazard or relevant detail. Roly is not an emergency service. In an emergency or where someone may be in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency service or qualified professional. Not sure whether you should continue? Ask Roly to explain the risks, what qualifications may be required, or what type of professional you may need.
